Moving macroecology forward using novel experimental approaches

This is the slide deck from my Ph.D. defense presentation held at Utah State University on 29 March 2013. The presentation focuses on two of my three dissertation chapters that explore local and regional drivers of biodiversity, including macroecological patterns (species abundance distribution, species area relationship, and species time relationship). I presented a very similar version of this talk at an invited seminar for Washington University EEB department on 8 November 2012. My advisor was S. K. Morgan Ernest, and my committee included Peter B. Adler, David N. Koons, Michael E. Pfrender, and Ethan P. White.
