Sediment geochemistry, archaeal abundance and GDGT data from methane seep sediments offshore Southwest Taiwan

Dataset for manuscript "Methane Index and TEX86 values in cold seep sediments: implications for paleo-environmental reconstructions" currently under review in Geochimica et Cosmochimica Acta. Parameters include methane gas concentration, sulfate concentration, total organic carbon, dissolved inorganic carbon, stable carbon isotopes of total organic and dissolved inorganic carbon, the abundances of archaea and ANME-1, glycerol dialkyl glycerol tetraethers (GDGTs) and their associated indices including the Methane Index, Branched Isoprenoid Index, Ring Index and TEX86. ANME1_gdgt_calculation datasheet shows the calculations based on which the ANME-1 GDGT relative distribution was inferred. Datasheets Flux Dive1, Flux Dive3 and Flux MD10-3280 contain the calculations of sulfate and dissolved inorganic carbon fluxes.
