Bathymetry of Imja Glacial Lake in the Khumbu region of the Nepal Himalaya surveyed in April 2002

This dataset presents the results of a bathymetric survey of Imja Glacial Lake in the Khumbu region of the Nepal Himalaya conducted in April 2002. The survey was conducted by drilling holes through the frozen lake ice (~70 cm) and measuring water depth with a sounding line. The coordinates of the depth measurement points were determined using carrier-phase GNSS and are expressed in the WGS 84–UTM Zone 45N coordinate system. The shoreline was derived by measuring distance and azimuth with a laser rangefinder from depth-measurement points along the lakeshore. All units are in meters. For further details, see Fujita et al.
