Enigmatic X-Ray Emission from a Wolf-Rayet Binary Theta Muscae
收藏资源简介:
We propose a followup XMM observation of THETA Muscae with WC star in front. Our primary goal is to identify the location of the Radiative RecombinationContinua (RRC) by monitoring the flux change in the difference orbital phasefrom the previous observation. If the RRC can exist in any binary with a varietyof the orbital period, we can expect the RRC is common in WC binary. If the RRConly exists in the short binary with period of an order of 10 days, it stronglyrestricts the physical parameters, such as density, of the plasma that formsRRC. The RRC is very unique structure to the WC+O binary, which is hardly seenin the other celestial objects. truncated!, Please see actual data for full text [truncated!, Please see actual data for full text]
