This dataset contain the code and data necessary to simulate and ouptut results of individuals based simulation of daily activity timings. This dataset contains the data and code required to replicate analyses. Code The python code "Daily_niche_model.py" simulates a stochastic, individual-based birth-and-death process (e.g. Méléard, 2016; Otto and Day, 2011), to study the evolution of daily periods of sexual activity timings within species, and its potential effect on population divergence and speciation. Additionnal code include "Independant_MF_evolution.py" for independant evolution of the activity timing loci between males and females; as well as "Coveolution_ActivityTiming_Emergence" for coevolution of the activity timing and emergence timing traits. How to use If you wish to run it using the multiprocessing feature, a linux build is recommended, or a cluster as it is ressource intensive. To test the effet of one parameter, you must comment it at the start of the script, and modify the parameter later as explained at the start of the script. This code will return text based results, made to be outputted by a cluster. The results will only be displayed on the console if run locally ! Data Data.xlsx contain the data for the main figures, generated with the Main_figures.R code. This code also needs LD_values.xlsx. Supplementary_data.xslx contains the data for the supplementar figures, generated with Supplementary_figures.R code.
