The purpose of this research is to examine the effectiveness of integrating information and communication technology (ICT) in teaching English in two classrooms. This study addresses two research questions: (1) Is the integration of ICT in English teaching effective in the classroom? (2) What factors influence the quality of ICT use in English teaching? A mixed-methods design was employed to collect data from students through three sources: student questionnaires, student academic performance, and teachers’ opinions. The participants comprised 54 bachelor’s degree students at xxx University of Technology xxx, xxx, xxx. The study focused on three components: teacher effectiveness, student engagement, and methods of integrating ICT in teaching. These factors collectively explain the relatively strong relationship between each component and the overall effectiveness of ICT integration in English teaching. The results indicate that the majority of students are satisfied with the integration of ICT in teaching English, specifically in the English for Presentation courses. The practical implications of this study suggest that instructional designers may leverage the research findings to inform the development of curricula that integrate emerging technologies in English language teaching. Educators can adopt established protocols to implement ICT effectively within their teaching practices. Furthermore, researchers are able to utilise the instructional outcomes as a basis for comparative analyses across studies involving various factors, such as different teaching methodologies and graduate-level learner populations.
