This dataset supports the study titled “Energy Transition and Economic Performance in South Africa and Brazil: Evidence from ARDL Models, 1990–2025”. It contains annual time-series data for South Africa and Brazil over the period 1990–2025.The dataset includes key macroeconomic and energy-related variables such as GDP per capita (PPP, constant 2017 international dollars), energy consumption, CO₂ emissions, foreign direct investment (FDI inflows as % of GDP), and inflation (CPI). These variables are commonly used to analyze the nexus between economic growth, energy use, and environmental impact.The data were compiled from internationally recognized sources, including the World Bank and other global statistical databases.
