资源简介:
Pseudomona aeruginosa is an opportunistic pathogen of clinical and epidemiological relevance, associated with nosocomial infections including sepsis, pneumonia and urinary tract infections. Due to the intrinsic, acquired and adaptive resistance mechanisms, the pathogen developed resistance to multiple antibiotics. Whole-genome sequencing (WGS) has become unavoidable for studying molecular characteristics of pathogens including identification of potential virulence determinants, mechanisms of pathogenicity, antibiotic resistance, transmission and their molecular evolution. In addition, the degree to which antimicrobial resistant genes (ARGs) are transferred to other bacteria via mobile genetic elements (MGEs), including insertion sequences (ISs), plasmids, and phages, has a strong association with their likelihood to function as resistance transfer determinants. The finding in this study will help to gain insight into the context of the association between ARGs and MGEs in this pathogen as well as to provide information of genetic mutations associated with antibiotic resistance in Vietnamese P. aeruginosa strains.
