Assessment of Hydrologic Trends in Pennsylvania

The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) in cooperation with the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (PA DCNR), Bureau of Geological Survey, provides time series trends results using the Mann Kendall family of analyses on select sites across Pennsylvania for baseflow, runoff, groundwater levels, and streamflow percentiles. Trend results for baseflow and runoff at 197 sites across Pennsylvania were computed from estimates uisng the recession-curve displacement method (RORA) and estimates of runoff and baseflow from the hydrograph-separation technique PART, HySEP-Fixed, HySEP-LocMin, HySEP-Slide, BFI-Standard, BFI-Modified, DF-One Param, and DF-Two Param described in Donmoyer and others (2023). Trends were computed for a full range of streamflow percentiles at 51 sites from 1979-2022 and groundwater level trends were computed for 66 sites from 1979-2022.
