A thyX deletion mutant strain of Mycobacterium bovis BCG Tokyo 172

An isolate of a seed lot of BCG Tokyo 172 was used as a parent strain to create a thyX deleted mutant. The short reads of the deletion mutant were determined to confirm the deletion itself and to estimate the genetic background of the strain that could tolerate the absence of thyX, which is considered essential in a reference strain of Mycobacterium tuberculosis H37Rv.
