Readiness of Future Technology Teachers to Organise Specialised (Profile) Education in General Secondary Schools: Results of a Survey of Pre-Service Technology Teachers

To determine the level of readiness of future technology teachers to organise specialised (profile) education in general secondary schools, an anonymous survey was conducted among students majoring in “Secondary Education (Technology)”. The study involved 105 respondents – senior-year teacher-education students, which ensures the representativeness of the sample and allows for reliable generalisations. The questionnaire consisted of five thematic blocks and was aimed at a comprehensive assessment of the professional readiness of future technology teachers to implement profile education. The questions addressed the following areas: self-assessment of overall readiness to teach technology at the profile level; formation of key competencies (including digital, project-technological, and STEM/STEAM-related competencies); ability to develop programme learning outcomes among profile-school students; influence of teaching practice and academic disciplines on professional preparation; open-ended questions regarding additional developmental needs, expected challenges, and suggestions for improving teacher-training programmes. The questionnaire combined quantitative and qualitative methods, including Likert-scale items, alternative response options, and open-ended questions to enable in-depth analysis of students’ perspectives.
