资源简介:
The datasets used to determine the results for the MSc study titled "Evaluation of nutritive value, in vitro fermentation, and antimethanogenic potential of native South African macroalgae species", researching the nutritional quality of seaweeds harvested in South Africa and their effect on in vitro fermentation parameters.
Proximate analysis results and mineral analysis results files depict the nutritional composition of four South African seaweed species. Proximate analysis results are in % dry matter, except for GE, which is in MJ per Kg DM. Mine5ral analysis is in % dry matter for macro-minerals (Ca, P, K, Na, Mg, and S), and mg per Kg dry matter for micro-minerals (Fe, Mn, Cu, Zn, and B). In vitro organic matter digestibility (IVOMD) results depict the results of including seaweed samples at rates of 5%, 10%, 15%, and 20% with either a feedlot TMR or Rhodes Grass or at 100% inclusion on digestibility in % dry matter. Total gas and Methane Analysis shows the results of including seaweed samples at rates of 5%, 10%, 15%, and 20% with a TMR after a 48Hr incubation period as well as at 3hrs, 6hrs, 9hrs, 12hrs, and 24hrs at incubation. Tri-halogenated methanogen (THM) analysis indicates the results of screening for total THM and specific THMs in µg per kg.
