On December 13, 2023, the Board of Supervisors adopted the Loudoun County Zoning Ordinance, which replaces the previous Revised 1993 Zoning Ordinance. The effective date of the new Zoning Ordinance is December 13, 2023. All property in the county is now administered under the new Zoning Ordinance, subject to any vested or other statutory rights, with the following exceptions: Commercially and industrially zoned properties that are located in the Route 28 Tax District and administered under the Loudoun County 1972 Zoning Ordinance continue to be administered under the 1972 Zoning Ordinance, unless and until the owner chooses to waive their Route 28 Tax District protections through the rezoning or zoning conversion process. Grandfathered (PDF) administrative and legislative applications may continue to be processed to approval under the previous Revised 1993 Zoning Ordinance.
