资源简介:
As a part of the Nansen Legacy project, physical oceanography data were collected from 5 ocean glider missions in the Barents Sea, in the period between August 2019 and February 2021. The data set includes transects east of Spitsbergen in the Barents Sea, across the Atlantic water inflow and the Polar Front between Atlantic Water and Polar Water. Three out of 5 missions were made using Seagliders and two using Slocum gliders. The Nansen Legacy was funded by the Research Council of Norway. The gliders and their operations were supported by the Norwegian national facility for ocean gliders, (NorGliders) at the Geophysical Institute, University of Bergen, and the Svalbard Integrated Arctic Earth Observing System (SIOS) infrastructure. One NetCDF file per glider mission is provided: sg561_BS_2019.nc sg562_BS_2019.nc sg560_BS_2020.nc Durin_BS_2020.nc Odin_BS_2020.nc Details on the data processing and the sensors are provided in the summary and comments of each file. Quality-controlled, 1-decibar vertically interpolated observations of temperature, salinity, and dissolved oxygen (only in the 3 Seaglider missions) in the entire water column are provided for each dive and climb. Additionally, depth-average horizontal current estimates between two surfacing of the glider are included. Please note that the format of data (e.g., dimension sizes of time, position and current estimates) differ between the Seaglider and Slocum missions; please see the attributes of the corresponding files. Bad data are replaced by NaNs and remain as gaps in the profiles. We caution the users that the salinity profiles, especially from the unpumped conductivity sensor of the Seaglider, are noisy and the resulting density profiles may contain overturns. We leave further filtering, averaging, and smoothing of the data to the users’ discretion depending on their objectives.
