In accordance with section 18 of the Electoral Affairs Commission Ordinance (Cap 541), the Electoral Affairs Commission (“EAC”) submitted to the Chief Executive (“CE”) a report on its recommendations on the constituencies boundaries for the 2015 District Council Ordinary Election on 5 November 2014. The CE in Council accepted the recommendations on 25 November 2014 and, pursuant to section 6 of the District Councils Ordinance (Cap 547), made the Declaration of Constituencies (District Councils) Order 2014, which became effective on 30 January 2015 after the Legislative Council completed the negative vetting. The delineation of constituencies came into operation on 1 January 2016. For details about the delineation exercise, please refer to the abovementioned report, which is available at the EAC’s website (www.eac.hk).
