The study was conducted to identify transcriptome changes in M. smegmatis during adaptation to low temperatures. Overall design: The cell culture in triplicate was grown up to mid-log growth stage at 37 °C and then subjected to cold stress (15 °C). At time zero (before stress), and at 2, 5 and 24 hours, cell culture samples were taken, total and size-specific RNA was isolated and sequenced.
