Data from Geophysical Survey Work at Statera Sundon Site, Chalton, Bedfordshire, January 2024

This collection comprises geophysics data from geophysical survey work at Statera Sundon Site, Chalton, Bedfordshire which was undertaken by MOLA Northampton in January 2024. This work involved Magnetometer survey with a cart-mounted array of Bartington Grad-01-1000L fluxgate gradiometers. The survey successfully detected two sites of archaeological interest comprising a potential enclosed farmstead of possible Iron Age date and a larger multiphase settlement in the southern most field of the survey with anomalies typical of both Iron Age and Roman occupation. Medieval ridge and furrow cultivation was also detected sporadically throughout the survey area alongside modern disturbance along Luton Road to the east.
