资源简介:
The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), in cooperation with the Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection and the Connecticut Department of Transportation, compiled a series of raster datasets for use by the USGS StreamStats application for the State of Connecticut and adjacent states. The raster datasets were used to compute basin characteristics that were used in regression equations to compute selected streamflow statistics (such as low-flow frequencies, estimated flow durations, and mean flows) within the StreamStats application. Refer to the associated report (https://doi.org/10.3133/sir20255027) and data release (https://doi.org/10.5066/P147SYMU) for more information about the development of regression equations.
Basin characteristics are the physical and climatic characteristics of drainage basins that can explain the variability of water quality and quantity at stream-locations of interest. These data can assist federal, state, and municipal governments in managing their water resources.
The datasets in this release are provided as downloadable Tag Image Files (*.tif). These include the digital elevation model (DEM; DEM_lowflow.tif), the mean annual air temperature from 1981 to 2010 in degrees Fahrenheit (meananntemp.tif), mean monthly precipitation for November 1981-2010 in inches (novprecip.tif), mean monthly precipitation values for December, January, and February 1981-2010 in inches (meanprecip_DJF.tif), slope derived from the DEM in percent rise (Slope_lowflow.tif), the occurrence of hydrologic soil group A (SSURGO_A.tif), and the occurrence of coarse-grained, stratified deposits (stratgeology.tif).
