资源简介:
âRapid sequencing of the critically endangered Araucaria angustifolia as part of the ORG.one project https://org.one/ooâ. Araucaria angustifolia (Araucariaceae) is a native species of Brazil with significant ecological, social, and economic importance. However, it has undergone extensive economic exploitation and habitat fragmentation. It is estimated that only 4.3% of the Araucaria Forest remains across its entire distribution. This has contributed to the species being classified as critically endangered on the IUCN Red List, under criterion A2cd. Despite the species' high ecological and economic value in Brazil and its concerning conservation status, little is known about its genomic constitution. The genome size of Araucaria angustifolia has been estimated at 44.7 pg (2C DNA), distributed across 26 chromosomes (2n = 26). In this project, we sequenced the genome of Araucaria angustifolia with approximately 25x coverage, using Oxford Nanopore sequencing technology. These data will support future studies on the species' evolutionary biology, population genetics, and structural and functional genomics.
