After the publication of two dictionaries documenting the dialect lexicon of the whole of Salento and the publication of so many books concerning the dialect lexicons of single towns, one could imagine that all the research work has been done and there is nothing else to discover. That impression has turned out to be wrong as new linguistic data continue to emerge. Furthermore, the forced isolation due to the 2020 lockdown and the creation of many Facebook pages, where the subject was the dialect, opened an unexpected new field of investigation.
