"On 7 November a 5.9-magnitude earthquake struck northwestern Iran at a depth of 10km with epicentre near by Varnakesh. At least 6 people were killed and at least 350 injured. The earthquake was followed by at least 60 aftershocks increasing the damage on buildings. Approximately 100 houses were completely destroyed in villages Varnakesh and Zaraghan and several hundred damaged in different degrees in other villages near by.<br>
