An antagonistic strain KRS015 was isolated from the seed of Verticillium wilt-resistant Gossypium hirsutum cultivar "Zhongzhimian No. 2". KRS015, even its VOCs and cell-free fermentation supernatant have strong antagonism effect on a variety of pathogenic fungi, including Botryis cinerea, Colletotrichum spp., Fusarium spp., Magnaporthe oryzae, Verticillium dahliae, etc. Furthermore, KRS015 can promote plant growth and trigger plant immunity. To elucidate molecular mechanism of its antagonism against pathogenic fungi and plant growth promotion effect, we sequenced the complete genome of the isolate KRS015, it will contribute to further research on KRS015 and the development of biocontrol agent.
