This study investigates the genetic and transcriptomic basis of chlorosis in the F1 progeny of an Actinidia chinensis cross. In this F1 generation, 25% of the plants display a chlorotic phenotype, while the remaining 75% exhibit a wild-type (wt) phenotype. Two sequencing approaches were performed to differentiate between chlorotic and wt plants: (1) DNA-seq of pooled leaf samples from chlorotic and WT individuals, and (2) RNA-seq of different leaf tissues to examine gene expression differences associated with the chlorotic phenotype.
