Right-Hemisphere Language Responses in a Chronic Post-Stroke Cohort

Recovery from left-hemisphere post-stroke aphasia involves reorganisation within a bilateral language network, including both perilesional and right-hemisphere regions. Using the Aphasia Recovery Cohort (ARC)—the largest open fMRI dataset of chronic aphasia—the study examined how right-hemisphere activity relates to clinical severity, aphasia subtype, and lesion anatomy during overt picture naming.
