First Report of Powdery Mildew Caused by Phyllactinia pyri-serotinae on Pyracantha fortuneana from China

Pyracantha fortuneana (Maxim.) H. L. Li, is a wild, flowering plant of Rosaceae, that is grown in gardens, fields, roadsides, and riverbanks in Qujing, China.It is also a plant of homology of medicine and food. In March 2020 and 2024, hundreds of Pyracantha fortuneana growing along the gardens in district of Qujing(103.789642E, 25.482519N) were observed to be severely affected by a powdery mildew with approximately 40% disease incidence.White, irregularly shaped fungal colonies were observed on the abaxial leaf surface and later covered the whole leaf surface, and as the disease developed, the infected leaves became yellow.
