Glyphodes pyloalis is an important pest of mulberry trees. It severely damages mulberry plantations and negatively impacts silkworm rearing. As a major pest of mulberry, the host plant of silkworm, G. pyloalis causes significant economic losses to the sericulture industry. Obtaining the genome sequence of this pest species is highly desirable for understanding its genetic makeup and developing effective control methods.However, the genome of G. pyloalis has remained unknown until now. In this study, we employed high-fidelity sequencing technology to generate a draft genome assembly of G. pyloalis for the first time. The availability of its genome sequence will facilitate investigations into the genetic basis of this pest's biology and interactions with its host plant. It will also aid in developing genomic tools and techniques for monitoring and managing G. pyloalis populations.
