By simulating the low-pressure hypoxic environment on the plateau, we identified the changes of intervertebral discs in rats of different ages, systematically studied the differential expression genes during nucleus pulposus cell aging and disc degeneration under different altitudes, and explored important molecular events and regulatory pathways of intervertebral disc degeneration in the plateau environment.
