R/V Falkor Thermosalinograph Deployed 2013-08-17

The Sea-Bird Thermosalinograph 45 (SN 4570476-0421) was deployed on 2013-08-17 on R/V Falkor. The Research Vessel Falkor is the flagship vessel of the Schmidt Ocean Institute. This device is a Thermosalinograph. Thermosalinographs collect data from the sea surface via flow-through systems on vessels. Typically they are mounted near the front of the vessel in order to minimize contamination. Primary variables measured are temperature and conductivity, and other variables like salinity and density are derived. It was deployed on a mobile platform. Data from this deployment were archived and made available through Ocean Networks Canada's Oceans 3.0 digital infrastructure, with quality assurance and derived data products following established practices.
