The epitope-specific mAb was shown to bind PA in a concentration dependent manner. The binding was further shown to be limited to the amino-terminal 191 residues. In further assays, it was shown that the epitope recognized does not encompass the 166-169 (RKKR) furin recognition sequence in domain 1 of PA.
