Utilization share of recycled plastic packaging Japan FY 2023, by application

In fiscal year 2023, almost 58 percent of recycled plastic containers and packaging were used in chemical recycling to manufacture products such as coke oven chemical raw materials, synthetic gas, and blast furnace reductant. In that fiscal year, around 656 thousand metric tons of plastic containers and packaging were recycled by the Japan Container and Packaging Recycling Association.

在2023财政年度，近58%的回收塑料容器与包装被用于化学回收，用以制造诸如焦炉化学原料、合成气和炼铁还原剂等制品。在该财政年度，日本容器与包装回收协会共回收了约656,000吨的塑料容器与包装。
