This photograph is 2 of 2 showing the same scene and was either taken, or collected, by 494 Sergeant Joseph Cecil Thompson of the 9th Battalion AIF during his service at Galliopli and in Egypt.
Editor's Comment:
The 9th Bn., as part of 3rd Brg. Australian Imperial Force, were the first to land at the ANZAC beachead on Gallipoli, 25th April 1915.
