In this repository you can find the compact modeling data, observation data, and research code used to prepare the figures and tables for the paper "Refined Parameterization of Source Currents in the Direct-Current Global Electric Circuit". The paper studies parameterizations of source currents in the direct-current global electric circuit (DC GEC) using WRF-based ionospheric-potential simulations and potential-gradient observations at Vostok Station. The main focus is the effect of adding a temperature factor and a lag of this factor to the source-current parameterization. The key outputs include: seasonal and diurnal comparisons of the P0, P1, and P2 parameterizations with Vostok observations; regional decomposition of the modeled ionospheric potential; comparison of satellite lightning local-time curves with model local-time regional contributions; tables quantifying the dependence of correlation, RMSE, timing, and peak-to-peak amplitude on the lag of the temperature factor.
