irconium vanadate is a well-known negative thermal expansion (NTE) material, which can be used for creating composites with controllable expansion coefficients. With this beamtime we will test our hypothesis that local disorder develops in ZrV2O7 during heating. To confirm such premise, we would like to conduct temperature-resolved high-energy X-rays diffraction experiments at ID15A to measure diffuse scattering up to 800°C. Extracted pair distribution function (PDF) ​would​​​ be a suitable tool for direct analysis of interatomic distances, and, therefore, evaluation of thermal contraction mechanism.​
