This thesis evaluates the impact of CD38 targeting monoclonal antibody drugs, daratumumab and isatuximab, in the treatment paradigm for multiple myeloma through investigation of standard and novel strategies incorporating these drugs, with a particular focus on novel strategies assessed in clinical trials of patients who fail standard front-line therapies within 18 months of treatment, also known as functional high-risk multiple myeloma, who have significantly inferior survival outcomes, compared to those who relapse beyond this time-point.
