<p>Abundance of ammonia monooxygenase subunit A (<em>amoA</em>) genes determined using TaqMan quantitative polymerase chain reaction (qPCR).&nbsp;Archaeal&nbsp;<em>amoA</em>&nbsp;genes were quantified using quantitative PCR using the assay described in Mosier and Francis 2011.
