Post-mortem brain samples were obtained from participants in the Rush Medical Center Religious Order Study; donors were selected who were classified as having no evidence of Alzheimer''s disease upon demise. Brain samples were dissected to sub-anatomical regions and preserved by rapid freezing. Tissues were subject to chromatin preparation for ChIP-Seq, to RNA isolation for RNASeq, and to DNA isolation and bisulfite conversion for whole genome shotgun bisulfite sequencing.
