资源简介:
Staphylococcus aureus is a significant cause of healthcare-associated infections (HAIs) and community-acquired infections, and is capable of causing bloodstream, skin and soft tissue, and respiratory tract infections, as well as infections such as endocarditis and osteomyelitis. S. aureus is an opportunistic pathogen that causes secondary infections, often leading to high mortality rates. The severity of the infection caused by this pathogen depends on various virulence factors. The production of toxins is linked to toxic shock syndrome, scalded skin syndrome, and foodborne illnesses.Understanding the epidemiology of this pathogen, as well as its molecular characteristics, such as resistance and virulence, is essential to promote effective treatment, control, and prevention strategies in pediatric patients.
