This repository includes data from Smith-Greenaway and Trinitapoli's study "Maternal Cumulative Prevalence Measures of Child Mortality Show Heavy Burden in Sub-Saharan Africa" published in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences (2020). The replication files enable researchers to use publicly available Demographic and Health Survey Program data (https://dhsprogram.com/) to generate maternal infant mortality (mIM), maternal under-five mortality (mU5M), and maternal offspring mortality (mOM) for different age groups of mothers. The replication files further generate these indicators for sub-regions and wealth groups within each country.
