Lebensgeschichten verstehen, Selbstverstehen, Andere verstehen lernen

Der Text spannt einen weiten Bogen. Ausgehend von metareflexiven Fragen nach der Autorenschaft und dem Zustandekommen von Reden und Texten, ihrer Zurechenbarkeit und einer Dekonstruktion allzu affirmativer Selbstgewißheiten über die „Einheit und Homogenität der Person“ nimmt er die Situation einer gehaltenen Rede, eines Vortrags und seiner Bearbeitung und Weiterbearbeitung für die Veröffentlichung zum Ausgangspunkt für die Entfaltung einer collagierenden, transversalen Hermeneutik. Er ist eine bricolage (Lévi-Strauss), die als theoretischer Hintergrund von Erzähl- und Biographiearbeit in vielfältig wechselnden Diskursen zusammengewoben wird, indem sie die Mannigfaltigkeit der Konzepte, Forschungs- und Theoriebestände aufzeigt, die beim Thema „Biographiearbeit mit Menschen in besonderen Lebenslagen“ überdacht oder zumindest in den Blick genommen werden sollten. This text opens a broad view departing from metareflections on biography work, deconstructing securities about authorship and the unity of personality. It offers a concept of transversal hermeneutics as collage, linking important fields of knowledge, essential for biography work: life span developmental psychology, concepts about traumatic stress and its treatment etc., to work with biographies with old people and handicapped people (and not only with them). Every human being, old or young, handicapped or not, inmate or nurse brings his/her specific and more or less traumatizing lifehistory along with him/her. Only in dealing with this personal history and that of the other real encounter with the other person in his otherness (Levinas) will be possible. Experiences have to be shared and by this sharing social worlds are emerging. Biography is the sedimantation of life as lived in communities. The author, through whom many authors are speaking, points out that individual memorizing is always embeded in collective memory, and emphasizes what this fact means to our society.
