资源简介:
Sphecidae is a diverse family of cosmopolitan wasps. Although all are predatory, they express various forms of nesting. Some burrow into soil, use pre-existing holes, use mud and resin, or build independent nests of mud, unattached to anything. Their preference of prey items also differs, from butterfly larvae to spiders. The University of Hawai'i Insect Museum's collection consists of both adventive and endemic species. Among those native to the islands are Ectemnius molokaiensis (Perkins, 1899) and Ectemnius polynesialis (Cameron, 1881). By transcribing this expedition you can help aid in our understanding of their distribution in Hawai'i.This expedition of 342 tasks is fully transcribed and validated. This data resource is harvested periodically into the main occurrence index.
