Sex-Specific Adaptations of the Intestinal Bacteria of the Wolf Spider Pardosa astrigera (Araneae Lycosidae) During Overwintering

Female Pardosa astrigera have a lower anti-icing fluid levels and a weaker cold resistance than the males in winter, which means they may adopt different strategies to respond the low temperatures in winter. Understanding the feature of intestinal bacterial communities between two sexes is key to elucidating survival strategies in extreme environments. This study primarily compared the intestinal bacterial communities between two sexes of Pardosa astrigera in a temperate region by using 16S rRNA gene sequencing.
