There is over 15000 existing species of Ensifera attributed to 15 superfamilies, much more than their allies of Caelifera. They mainly phytophagous or omnivorous, but unlikely to do harm to crops, few of them even become the Natural Enemy Insects. This data set collects all the species information of Chinese Ensifera insects before the year 2013, covering 537 species in 17 families of 5 superfamilies, every entry contains taxonomical, morphological, distributive data and references, pictures of diagnostic characteristic also provided. The data set can effectively support the researches about taxonomy, biogeography, ecology and other related subjects.
