Global Trends and Projections of the Disease Burden of Liver Cirrhosis among women of childbearing age. Guangming Li et al.

This study analyzed the temporal trends and projected future incidence of liver cirrhosis in women of childbearing age (WCBA). Using Global Health data 2021, the APC and Bayesian APC models were applied. From 1992 - 2021, trends varied by etiology and Socio - demographic Index (SDI) regions. Alcohol - related cirrhosis saw a rising incidence number but falling ASIR, while non - alcoholic fatty liver disease - related cirrhosis increased overall. Projections by the BAPC model show a growing global burden with regional disparities. China may experience a decline, while India may face an increase. Overall, the global incidence in WCBA is rising, calling for region - specific prevention strategies.
