"Unsere Handwerkerschule in Marangu" ("Our craftsmen school in Marangu"). 14 men and younger men are busy working next to a stone building. In the front a wooden folding chair and several wooden pieces to be made into chairs. A European, probably the teacher, supervises them. Chicken in the foreground, blurred.; Cf. photo no. 286. -- The picture was probably taken by Johannes Schanz (1876-1963). He worked as a missionary of the Leipzig Mission in Moshi and Mamba from 1901 to 1910.
