资源简介:
A graphic published by LyoHub summarising the annual number of U.S. FDA-approved freeze-dried drug products provides a useful overview of historical trends but does not include the underlying numerical dataset. To enable approximate quantitative analysis, the values represented in the graphic were reconstructed using a graphical digitisation approach. The source image was imported into Microsoft Excel and annotated with reference scale bars so that the heights of the bars in the figure could be visually measured relative to the original y-axis scale. These measurements were converted into estimated counts of approved freeze-dried products for each year. The resulting yearly estimates were rounded to integer values and then aggregated by decade to reduce uncertainty associated with graphical measurement. The reconstructed dataset suggests a strong long-term increase in freeze-dried drug approvals, rising from only a few products per decade in the 1950s and 1960s to more than one hundred approvals during the 2000s and approximately 290 approvals during the 2010s. Although the reconstructed values are approximate because they were derived from a published graphic rather than primary regulatory data, the dataset provides a transparent and reproducible representation of the growth of freeze-dried pharmaceutical products over time. The annotated image, spreadsheet, and accompanying figure are provided so that the reconstruction process can be inspected and reused for discussion of long-term trends in lyophilised drug development.

Reference
https://www.linkedin.com/posts/lyohub_did-you-knowin-2023-thefda-approved-activity-7192158561911689218-u4xU/
