Multi-criteria environmental assessment of protected areas: ecosystem services and visitor use

Aquí tienes la descripción en inglés para Zenodo: This dataset supports the manuscript "Multicriteria Environmental Valuation of Protected Areas: Ecosystem Services and Visitor Use Dynamics" submitted to GeoJournal of Tourism and Geosites. It contains the normalized indicator matrix, AHP pairwise comparison matrices, criteria weights, and VIKOR compromise indices calculated for the three management zones of the Sumaco Biosphere Reserve (Ecuador): core zone, buffer zone, and transition zone. Twelve ecosystem services are classified according to the Common International Classification of Ecosystem Services (CICES v5.1) across three dimensions: provisioning, regulating and maintenance, and cultural services. The dataset also includes visitor use metrics derived from institutional secondary sources (Ministry of Environment, Water and Ecological Transition of Ecuador – MAATE; and the Sumaco Biosphere Reserve Administration). All calculations follow the standard AHP-VIKOR multicriteria decision-making methodology. This dataset is intended to support reproducibility of results and further research on environmental valuation, protected area management, and sustainable tourism governance in UNESCO Biosphere Reserves of the Global South.
