We used 4-hydroxybenzoate (4HB) or pyruvate with equimolar concentration of carbon to cultivate R. nubinhibens in marine basal medium (MBM). Both cultures exhibited similar growth rates and exhausted their carbon source within 36 h. We carried out transcriptomic analysis on R. nubinhibens during the exponential phase. This comparison highlighted change in transcript expression during aromatic compound metabolism in R. nubinhibens.
