NCBI MapViewer displays onion genetic map derived from a cross of the inbreds Bringham Yellow Globe 15-23 (BYG) x Alisa Craig 43 (AC). Map was developed initially using RAPD and RFLP markers. 100 new genetic markers were later added to this map. The new markers were developed from onion ESTs that showed significant similarity to single positions in the rice genome. Detailed description of the map can be found at Martin et al., 2005.
