The Influence of Training and Development on Employee Performance in Local Government Authorities – A Case of Nachingwea District Council

This research project investigates the influence of training and development on employee performance within Local Government Authorities, specifically focusing on Nachingwea District Council in Tanzania. The study employs both qualitative and quantitative approaches, utilizing questionnaires, interviews, and documentary reviews to analyze how effective training contributes to individual and organizational performance. Findings reveal that training and development significantly improve employee skills, job satisfaction, and service delivery in local government settings. The research provides recommendations for policy improvement and emphasizes the need for structured training programs across all departments. This project was conducted as part of the requirements for a Bachelor Degree in Human Resource Management at the Mwalimu Nyerere Memorial Academy.
