EST-SSR based genetic diversity analysis of fringe R. viscosum (L.) Torr subpopulations of breeding interest

We performed RNAseq on vegetative bud tissue harvested in early June, 2014 from an individual Rhododendron viscosum (L.) Torr. plant growing in Stone County, MS. The individual grew at 30°47'3.40" N and 88°59'23.61" W. RNA was extracted from bud tissue using a Qiagen RNeasy Plant Mini Kit (Qiagen, Valencia, CA), followed by paired-end library preparation using an Illumina TruSeq Stranded Total RNA Library Prep Kit and accompanying PCR protocols (Illumina, Inc. San Diego, CA). We then sequenced paired-end libraries (RNASeq) using an Illumina MiSeq instrument (Illumina, Inc. San Diego, CA). We provide the forward and reverse fastq reads for two cDNA libraries created from this individual (azbud5 and azbud19).
